  • Sharon Roshell Biography

Sharon Roshell is a native of Hope Mills, NC and she conceived a love for music at an early age, but more importantly a love for Christ and His Church. She affectionately recalls sitting and talking with the Lord in her bedroom as a young girl and identifies that as the moment when the Lord taught her to look at Him and worship. Sharon Roshell is more than a singer, she is a psalmist that has the ability to bring her audience to an experience with God through her passionate delivery and powerful vocals. When Sharon sings, she is doing what she was born to do and there is no doubt that she enjoys her gift.

Being the daughter of two music lovers, naturally Sharon made her first connection to music at home. She recalls marching around the house behind her mother and singing along with music blasting from the record player. Later when she and her brother learned to play the piano, their family would spend weekends traveling around singing in churches, nursing homes, and in homes of the elderly and ill. In 1993, when Sharon was 13 years old she had the opportunity to join singers across the nation in the National Youth Chorale for a performance at Carnegie Hall in New York City. It was then that Sharon knew music would be part of her destiny and has since shared the stage with some amazing and notable recording artists.

Sharon Roshell has a B.S. in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Human Services Counseling. She is also a graduate of Valor Christian College (WHBC) where she majored in Praise and Worship Leadership. While living in Columbus, OH, Sharon served in the music ministry of World Harvest Church. After relocating to Baltimore, MD, Sharon served seven years as the worship leader of Kingdom Life Church. While there she was able to develop more as a songwriter and penned several songs, some which are included on the church’s album release, I’m Surrounded.

After a 2004 EP release, God is Bigger, in 2008 Sharon Roshell recorded again and released her debut album, Never Thirst Again, followed by her 2014 sophomore project, Church Girl 20:14, and has traveled throughout the United States and abroad sharing her gift and passion for worship. Sharon says her vision is to “write, record, and minister music that will leave an impression of God’s love and power.” Sharon now serves in ministry with her husband, Antonio D. Thomas, who is also a worship leader and minister. They are foster parents, and also operate Kulima Care, a foster care and adoption agency in Louisville, KY. under their established non-profit Fuego Corporation. Sharon’s heart is especially tender toward ministry to young ladies and helping them see their value as God’s daughter’s. The ministry of Sharon Roshell will encourage and uplift, but most of all invite you to encounter the Glory of God.

    “Passionate. Powerful. Beautiful.

These are all words that come to mind when I describe Sharon Roshell’s sophomore project.  It is wonderfully refreshing to ride along with her as she takes us on a musical journey. She is effortlessly convincing and unashamed in proclaiming her love for God and letting us know that she’s a Church Girl. I enjoy this project from beginning to end.

No doubt, you will enjoy her power-packed vocals and beautiful arrangements in each song. You will not be disappointed!”

“I am so proud to have been a part of Sharon Roshell’s new album, Church Girl 20:14. It was a labor of love, and I feel a fun stretch for Creative Soul Records. The title song “The Church Girl Anthem” brings together so many energizing elements, and is sure to be loved by Church Girls across the nation!

From the beautiful “Father of Glory” to the very fun “Where I Wanna Be” to the song that made me want to work with Sharon in the first place, “You Shall Reap”, this album is chocked full of amazing tunes.

I thank Sharon and Antonio for letting me walk with them through this amazing process.”
